Coca Cola Pakistan Celebrates Women’s Day

8th March Women's Day Special

8th March marks a day that celebrates women’s social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women, all across the world. International Women’s Day belongs to all groups everywhere and has been celebrated for well over a century now. This day not only celebrates women’s achievements in their respective fields but also acts as a call for action towards gender parity. This year’s theme ‘Press for Progress’ was a strong call for action to accelerate gender parity and promote a more gender inclusive mindset across households and organizations.

To commemorate this occasion, Coca-Cola Pakistan arranged a one-on-one session with the guest of honor, Ms. Ann Mason, Political-Economic Section Chief, U.S. Consulate.

The Coca Cola Company has embedded women empowerment in its core values. Coca Cola believes in economic potential of women and has initiated a 5 by 20 programme through which the company aims to empower 5 million women entrepreneurs across the company’s value chain by 2020.

In Pakistan, more than 8,000 women have been empowered so far through microfinance support and vocational trainings in joint collaborations with Kashif Foundation. The company will continue to expand this programme and always Press for women’s progress in its value chain.
